Legacy. Foresight. Innovation.

At Enterprise, sustainability is more than just a popular business term. Following the example set by our founders, we remain relentlessly focused on using the power of our global network to meet the needs of our customers, our communities, and the environment. As our network continues to grow and vehicle technologies and consumer preferences change, we remain committed to fostering innovation and ensuring that the automobile remains a vital and accessible mode of transportation.

Most Fuel-efficient Fleet

Our extensive network and robust fleet enables us to introduce millions of people to new automotive technologies. That’s why solutions like Enterprise CarShare play a critical role in shaping the future of urban mobility. In addition, our sustainable, fuel-efficient rental fleet includes a variety of hybrids and electric vehicles. Approximately 56% of our vehicles average a highway fuel efficiency rating of at least 28 mpg and 28% of our vehicles average 32 mpg or better.

Carbon Offsets

We provide our customers with the opportunity to offset the carbon emissions of their rental cars by paying $1.25 per rental to fund certified offset projects through TerraPass, and we match the contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to $1 million.

Renewable Fuels Research

In 2007, our owners—the Taylor family—partnered with the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis to create the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Institute for Renewable Fuels. At the Institute, scientists are working to create fuel from renewable and reliable plant sources.
