Changes to the Enterprise CarShare User Experience!


As part of our ongoing commitment to providing  you with the most convenient car sharing experience, we are making changes to our in-car technology.

It will take 6 to 8 weeks to update the entire fleet, so you may arrive to a car with either technology. To ensure your trip proceeds smoothly it will be important to understand how both systems work.  Please review the information below.

Your NEW experience:

  1. Look for the member card image on the windshield card reader to identify the new technology.
  2. Place your member card on the card reader, wait for the green light, and the doors will unlock.
  3. Remove key from the key holder inside the glove box.
  4. Keep the key with you throughout your reservation and use the key to lock/unlock (not your member card) throughout your trip.
          o   This also applies to push/start button vehicles.
          o   Do NOT insert the keys back into the key holder during your trip as it will end your trip.
  5. To end your trip, return vehicle to its reserved parking location.
  6. Insert the circular fob on the key ring into slot in glove box key holder.
  7. Place member card on the windshield card reader (doors will lock if key is properly in key holder). 
  8. Always Return Key to Key Holder: You will be charged a minimum $55 late fee and the extension of your reservation until the key is returned to the key holder.
  9. Check the door handle to confirm doors are locked. 

Your CURRENT experience:
  

  1. Place your member card over the card reader, wait for the green light and the doors will unlock.
  2. Key is tethered to the ignition.
        o   For push start ignition, press the brake then                 push the start button.
  3. Leave the key in the car and use your member card to lock and unlock throughout your reservation (DO NOT manually lock/unlock the doors).
  4. When you are ready to end your trip, return vehicle to its reserved parking location.
  5. Use your member card to lock one final time.
  6. Check the door handle to confirm doors are locked. 

     

 


NEW Fuel Card:

Soon, all fuel cards will be changed so they can be used at any pay-at-the-pump station. 

  • Always use Esso pay-at-the-pump until all cards are changed.
  • Gas Card Location:
        o   For NEW technology, the gas card is in the glove box key holder (below the key)
        o   For CURRENT technology, the gas card is in the left side of the communication box beside the rear-view mirror.
        o   Failure to return the gas card will result in a $50 fee.
  • Gas Card PIN: The four-digit PIN code (driver ID) is in your reservation details (check the app or your confirmation email).
