After thoughtful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to indefinitely suspend our car-sharing operations in Waterloo and Oshawa. We did not take this decision lightly and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Members in these markets will have access to their Enterprise CarShare account through October 31, 2020. We encourage you to log-in to review the status of your account and update your credit card information to expedite any expected refunds. We will provide a prorated refund of annual membership fees as well as refunds for any credit balances by September 30, 2020. For more information about refunds please review the FAQs below. As a valued member of the Enterprise family, we are extending a discount on daily rates at nearby Enterprise Rent-A-Car locations. To take advantage of this discount please log-in to your account and choose “Member Info” at the top of the page or refer to your email for a link.

  • Why is Enterprise CarShare indefinitely suspended in Waterloo and Oshawa?

    After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to indefinitely suspend our current car-sharing model in certain markets. This was a strategic decision that was necessary due to the current business environment.

    We encourage customers to reach out to one of our nearby Enterprise Rent-A-Car branch offices for alternate mobility solutions. Enterprise is in a unique position to be able to serve most Enterprise CarShare members from our extensive network of local or neighbourhood rental locations. We know that many of our members are renting during normal business hours and are hopeful our neighbourhood locations will be able to meet the majority your needs.

  • I already paid my membership fee. Will I be getting a refund?

    Members with eligible accounts will receive a prorated refund for membership fees and credit balances by September 30, 2020. Members in good standing with Enterprise CarShare will receive a partial refund for application and/or membership fees paid between April 2019 and March 2020.  The fee will be prorated for the number of months “used”. 

    For example:  A $12 annual membership fee is equivalent to $1 per month. For a membership paid in December 2019 (4 months used/8 months unused), a member would receive $8 in refunds [$1 per month X 8 unused months] This example does not include taxes.

    Members will have access to their Enterprise CarShare account through October 31, 2020. We encourage you to log-in to review the status of your account and update your credit card information to expedite expected refunds. Members with invalid/expired credit cards will be issued a check refund.  Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks for checks to be processed and sent to the address on file.

  • I regularly relied on Enterprise CarShare. What do I do now?

    To assist CarShare members through this transition, discounted rates are available to CarShare members at nearby Enterprise Rent-A-Car locations. To make a discounted reservation, please log in to your account and choose “Member Info” at the top of the page or reference our August 26th email for a link. Our network includes neighbourhood Enterprise Rent-A-Car locations throughout your city, each one offering a diverse fleet of affordable vehicles. Many also offer extended and weekend hours.

  • Are you suspending any Enterprise CarShare programs in other markets?

    We will continue to offer CarSharing services in Toronto. If you have interest in becoming a member of the Toronto market by email at infoCanada@enterprisecarshare.ca or by phone at 844-341-7888 between 8.a.m. and 7.p.m, 7 days a week.
